Meeting 1/29

Katie - Be sure to sign up for a committee, everyone is required to be on at least one

Retreat is next weekend! meeting will be held at retreat so we can all watch the superbowl!! 

All APO spring break - still a work in progress, but we would elect 2 site leaders now, who are responsible for meeting with other site leaders throughout the year to learn how to facilitate group meeting and other leadership activities required for leading a group. The site leader must be enrolled in at least 6 credits next spring and commit to these meetings. We get to choose our site for next spring too! Email Sarah or Katie if you're interested in being a site leader. There are lots of cool sites, and Katie will send  the list out soon. 

Nationals for APO is also next year in Anaheim, CA so be sure to plan for the trips appropriately

Membership - rush week is this week!! 

Rush Events this week!! 
-Pizza Casbah Monday at 6pm
-Seeds on Tuesday at 4:30
-Movie night Wednesday at 7pm at AV
-Card Making on Thursday at 4:00

-Info Meetings - 5pm on Monday and 2pm on Tuesday

-Rachel Schrader is our new awards chair! Congrats! 
-Committee - Retention is  gonna be the committees new focus

Fellowship 

-Same as above!! 
-Flag football game maybe on Wednesday February 8th at 5pm as long as its not freezing
-Cookie Decorating before Valentines day at the LSC on February 13th from 4 - 5:30
- Retreat yay! watch for a  email about stuff to pack

Service

-Committee - looking for people interested in planning and helping plan service  activities

Big events coming up! More info on these will come out as they get closer 
-Shared Journeys spring fest - March 25th
-Girls Scouts - March 31st
-Project Homeless Connect - April 20th - connect with a homeless member of our community and help them get back on their feet in      many ways. It also provides you with a great way to meet someone and learn their story
-CSUnity - April 21st
-Relay for life - April 28th

Service This Week
-Seeds and Valentines Day Cards count as service! 
-Clothing Drive - Go through your closet and bring any unwanted clothes to donate! Bring them to any rush events or next meeting 
-Game Night at Parkwood Estates Thursday Feb 2nd from 5:45pm to 8pm. Meet at the transit center! 
-Tutoring at University Village off Plum Street - Tuesday 1/31 from  4pm to 6pm

If you were at Regionals and participated in the service event, log that as 1 hour in Ramlink! If you were on committee for that, you get service hours too

Webmaster 
- Check out Dans amazing website!

Fundraising 
- Budweiser concessions Feb 10th at 5:45
- Ramride
- Committee - please join! Only one meeting per month

Corresponding Sec
- MBU - March 4th 9am to 5pm. Nick has a sign up sheet with all the classes and T shirt size. If you weren't at meeting email him with your planning on going

- Section wide banquet - April 14. If you have ideas let Nick know as far as with a dance, or picnic, or any other ideas you have

- Committee - to travel to the other chapters to keep us all connected! 

Formal Chair
- sign up on the formal interest on April 21st
- Committee will have 8 to 10 people to divide up the responsibilities required

Treasurer
- PAY KATIE!!! 

Rachael 
- new safe late night ride home for only $1, check it out our lovely ASCSU provided us with this service

Ashlee
- Rush Shirts will be available for sure on Tuesday! Check your emails for more info on when you can pick yours up, and pay Ashlee $8

Meeting 1/22

Regionals - Yay Kelly and everyone who helped out! It was an amazing experience for everyone involved :) 

(Katie) 
- if you're looking into opening a bank account, wells fargo is offering it for free to us since APO banks with them

Positions we need people for this semester 
- APO shares liaison - to communicate with our APO shares, animal house and Poudre Valley School District, and work with service and       fundraising and correlate events with our shares 
- Captain Xtreme - fun and crazy position to make meetings fun, fellowship will make appoint soon
- Formal chair - appointed by fellowship to plan our formal this spring 
- Awards chair - appointed by membership, this person is in charge of applying for awards through nationals

MBU chairs from Boulder  
- MBU (Merit Badge University) is where APO members teach boy scouts and assist them in getting 3 merit badges in one day
- March 3rd, register with Nick K by Feb 11th with your tshirt size, food preference, and top 4 class preferences, there will be a sign up sheet next week at meeting
- no more American Heritage or American Labor classees this year, and added Fire safety, safety, genealogy and veterinary medicine

- clothing drive for homeless gear - Monday Jan 23rd through Feb 4th bring any of your unwanted clothes to meeting!
- Kids at Heart - Saturday Jan 28th from 3:30 - 8:30pm meet at the transit center at 3pm to go baby sit foster kids while their parents have a date night!
- Larimer Humane Society Tuesday through Saturday every week - 10am to 5 pm to help clean and do general chores. You can go for as long as you want during those hours!

Retreat
- Friday Feb 3rd, meet at the transit center at 4pm
- retreat will be in Estes Park
- need 7 to 8 drivers, if you're willing to drive let Jackie or Kate know
- bring a couple bucks for gas!

Fundraising
- Movie night at AV Tuesday the 24th at 7pm...BABY MAMA...I'd rather be  at APO right now cuz theres better food and cooler people...if you don't know that quote you better come on Tuesday
- IM sports -  Water polo - men and women's, let Maryanne or Christian know if you wanna play!

Membership
- Involvement Fair - 9am set up - till 3pm in the ballroom, make sure to sign up so we don't overwhelm people 
- Info meetings are the 27th, 30th, and 31st
- Initiation is Feb 12th
- Big Little is Feb 19th

Fundraising 
- At Budweiser this semester only requires 6 people, the first one is February 10th. Remember that one fundraiser is required per semester 

(Brian)
- Section Banquet/Business Meeting - A Saturday in April (TBA), if you want to help organize or have ideas let Brian know
- Mines is hosting absolutely incredible kids day carnival again, a day designed to make kids have a blast and do activities and crafts! Dates TBA so Epsilon Xi can maybe have a booth again
- Section Leadership day - dates TBA
- DU has 4 to 7 members currently, and are continuing to grow! 
- Klondike - Feb 3rd and 4th, which is the winter boy scout event out in the wilderness. The boys have different stations that we assist with. This is during retreat though, but let Brian know if you want to be involved! 

All new actives should be on the list serve, so hopefully you're all getting this email!  

Group expectations for the semester 
- pajama party
- high attendance
- come to rituals! (initiation and activation) which, ya know, is required :)
- no sitting next to the same person at meeting! go meet your brothers, cuz they're awesome
